Optional Increased Accident Benefits

The accident benefits provided by the Standard Ontario Auto Policy may not provide you with the limits of coverage you require. There are optional increases you can purchase to tailor the policy to your needs. Follow the link below to explore the benefits that are available.

OPCF #20 – Coverage for Transportation Replacement

Once again this is an optional coverage – If your vehicle is not driveable as a result of an insured peril, The OPCF #20 will cover the cost of renting another vehicle to drive while your vehicle is being repaired.

OPCF #27 – Liability for Damage to Non-Owned Vehicles

Often used when you are on vacation and renting a vehicle. This provides coverage for the liability you assume under written contract for damage done to the vehicle. This endorsement only extends coverage to the named insured of your Ontario Auto Insurance Policy and any listed drivers on your auto policy. By listing drivers on the rental contract they are not automatically covered unless they are already listed on your Ontario Auto Insurance Policy.

OPCF #43 – Waiver of Depreciation

If you purchase a New Vehicle or a Demo Vehicle, will less than a specified number of Kms, you may qualify to purchase the Waiver of Depreciation. If there is a total loss of the vehicle during the specified period of time, (often 24 months) no depreciation will be applied to the settlement.

Driving Record Protection

Is an endorsement you can purchase that will protect your excellent driving record in the event of the first At-Fault Accident as long as you are not charged with a Major Traffic Conviction as a result of the accident.  Terms and conditions do vary by company.

This provides a summary of the coverage available under your Ontario Auto Insurance Policy. The full terms, conditions and limits are fully outlined in the standard Ontario Auto Policy and the Ontario Auto Insurance Act.
